Chica The Chicken is an antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS, being one of the four revealed antagonists of the game.

She is the vocalist at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, performing on stage and preparing while holding Carl the Cupcake and serving as a background vocalist during shows alongside Freddy Fazbear and Bonnie the Bunny. Together, they form the talented cast that brings joy to the restaurant. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place would be abandoned in 2002, leaving Chica to remain at the location with the other animatronics for a year until the arrival of the protagonist.

“	Chica not only provides the backup vocals in the band but also helps prepare the pizzas along with her best friend Carl the Cupcake! Chica the Chicken was introduced in January of 1984 with the rebrand from Fredbear's Family Diner to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, though her origins date back to the very beginning of the business in 1979. Many people don't know that Freddy and Friends were the original idea by co-founder Henry Emily for the restaurant, but they were changed due to budgetary reasons at the time. She would undergo design changes later down the line, but during her stay at the Colorado Springs location, she sported a white bib with the phrase "LET'S EAT!". She's a big yellow chicken with eyelashes, purple eyes, a tuft of feathers coming out of the top of her head, and orange bird feet. She's commonly associated with her best friend Carl the Cupcake who she holds on stage on a plate in her left hand. She stands around 6'8, not including her feathers. Appearance

Chica the Chicken is an anthropomorphic yellow chicken with striking shades of orange on her beak and legs. Unlike her original counterpart from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, Chica's design in the game is designed to be more faithful to the cybernetic animatronics of the late 1900s, resulting in the absence of her waist and segmented joints, which initially had revealed her endoskeleton. She wears a loose white bib, which is wrapped around her neck and proclaims, "Let's Eat!!!" in bold yellow text with a purple border, surrounded by pink, lime, blue, and orange confetti. Chica has a tuft of yellow feathers on her head, black eyebrows, purple pupils, and a small orange beak that features black nostrils and a bottom row of teeth. During the night, Chica's eyes can be begin glowing akin to her movie counterpart.

Carl the Cupcake, Chica's themed prop, is a pink-frosted cupcake resting on a plate. He features a brown cup, a white candle, and a lit yellow flame carved onto the candle. Carl is portrayed with orange googly eyes and two prominent buck teeth.

Not much is known about Chica the Chicken's personality aside for her love for pizza, which includes preparing pizzas in the restaurant.

History

Like the other animatronics, Chica the Chicken was conceptualized in 1979 and intended to appear at Fredbear's Family Diner. She was initially meant to be a performer at Fredbear's alongside the other animatronics. However, all four characters from Freddy Fazbear & Friends were cut due to budgeting issues. Following what is implied to be the Bite of 1983, which led to the closure of Fredbear's Family Diner, Henry Emily decided to rebrand the location as Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and replace all the animatronics with a brand-new cast. Chica was one of two unique additions to the restaurant, serving as the first chicken at the location and additionally assisting with preparing pizzas. After its opening, numerous locations sprang up across the country, promising the same fantasy and fun as the previous venue, but without the presence of Freddy Fazbear and his friends.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place continued to thrive until 1985, when the location temporarily shut down due to management issues that arose after the death of Henry Emily and the disappearance of William Afton. As a result, a relatively unknown member of the Emily family took over the Fazbear Entertainment brand and eventually reopened the location four years later, in 1989, with minor changes, such as the removal of the Puppet and the crawl maze under Pirate's Cove. Despite efforts to stay afloat, the location struggled to maintain interest, even with a boost in popularity and the introduction of the HelpyPAL computer assistant in 2002. Ultimately, Fazbear Entertainment declared bankruptcy and closed its restaurant chain in October 2003, leaving Chica the Chicken abandoned inside the restaurant indefinitely.

That same year, in October 2003, the protagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS was called back to the location after 20 years of neglect, drawn by the sense of "sorrow" that surrounded the place.

In 2015, a group of four young adults founded The Fazbear Archive and officially launched FazbearArchive.com. By 2024, the team actively collaborated with interested fans to search for lost media related to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, locating lost commercials and artifacts from the location through YouTube videos and collectors. However, as detailed through the ARG, it appears that someone with close ties to the location, implied to be William Afton, is not pleased with their attempts to reminisce about the past as "Blood and gears running the little machines of fantasy land" as, in a personal drive, a file named "ARCHIVE.txt" details that children yearn for their families within the restaurant, which has since been closed for two decades.

Chica the Chicken is one of two animatronics active in BLOOD & GEAR's Post-Night demo. During Monday: 6 AM, Chica attempts to creep up on the protagonist as he plays the Fazbear on the Run minigame. Metallic footsteps can periodically be heard approaching the player. Unlike Bonnie the Bunny, Chica exclusively appears on the left side of the arcade at all times. When Chica stands in that corner, the player must shine the Flashlight directly into her eyes to counteract her, causing her to wander away from the arcade. With each successful counteraction, a battery will be drained from the player's flashlight, requiring them to collect additional batteries within the minigame to continue doing so.
