It is a unique reimagining of the Five Nights at Freddy's interpretation developed by a series of talented minds under the Godot engine.
Following the release of director JDBRYANT's original demo, UNMASKED, a Twitter account dedicated to showcasing early looks of Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS managed to quickly amass thousands of followers due to its realistic animatronic designs and impressive, yet faithful, environments inspired by Five Nights at Freddy's. As the game continued development, it underwent several design changes. A demo teasing the Monday Overtime Task was released on July 20, 2024, prior to the final visual remaster, which released on December 27, 2024 and hid a teaser promising a demo containing Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS' first night slated for a 2025 release.

It also features a new storyline and cast of characters completely different from any previous FNAF games, official or fanmade. Blood & Gears has a lot to offer for fans and non fans alike, and we're very excited to see everyone's reactions as more things are revealed. |
Gameplay[]
Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS aims to be a faithful recreation of the original Five Nights at Freddy's, featuring a new atmosphere and various modifications to the core gameplay of the initial release of Five Nights at Freddy's. The games ultimate goal is to offer a fresh and unique experience while avoiding the usage of repetitive mechanics commonly seen in many Five Nights at Freddy's fangames. The player is located within a familiar yet visually reimagined version of the Office, which includes an operational left door and, interestingly, a direct entrance from the right, lacking a traditional door rather being covered with a curtain that must be lit with a flashlight to view the surrounding area. Additionally, the game retains the familiar Camera monitor, however, it expands upon them, implementing multiple meters corresponding to building power, laptop charge, CPU usage, and in-game time.
Following each night, the player will receive instructions from Jeremy, the Phone Guy of Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS, guiding them to perform specific tasks around the location while the animatronics continue their hunt. Currently, only the Monday: 6AM task has been revealed, which involves the player navigating a malfunctioning "Freddy on the Run" arcade machine while Bonnie the Bunny and Chica the Chicken stalk them in the darkness.
As of now, the mechanics for antagonists such as Freddy Fazbear and Foxy the Pirate have not been detailed or showcased. Additionally, other side animatronics, like Melvin the Mushroom, remain ambiguous regarding their potential appearance in gameplay.
Plot[]
Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS centers around Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, a restaurant chain which contained the beloved Freddy Fazbear & Friends band. The game is set within the Colorado Springs location as located on 7367 Hurricane St. Originally, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place was the site of the late Fredbear's Family Diner, which operated prior to being replaced with Freddy Fazbear & Friends. The diner housed animatronics such as Fredbear, Bonnie Rabbit, Sparky the Dog, and the Puppet. Following its closure in 1983, Fazbear Entertainment rebranded the location as Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, containing the brand new cast of Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate. Shortly thereafter, co-founder Henry Emily passed away. Despite his passing, the location continued to operate. Notably, the Puppet continued to maintain a role at the location until the reopening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place in 1989, following a temporary closure starting from 1985 due to a change in ownership. Fazbear Entertainment refused to elaborate on the exact reason for its closure.
Years later, co-founder William Afton additionally disappeared entirely from public view. As a result, the location gradually declined in prominence. Although the location was inherited by an unnamed family member of the Emily lineage, it failed to maintain its relevance over the years. Ultimately, the location was officially declared bankrupt in October 2003 and closed that same year. Shortly prior to its closure, the events of Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS transpire, taking the perspective of an unnamed protagonist who is drawn to the location for unknown reasons following their lack of engagement with the location for twenty years. Upon taking a job as a night-guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, the animatronics, prominently the Puppet, appear to take an interest in the player's presence.
Meanwhile, starting from 2015, a group of four friends, including Brooke, Liam, Elijah, and Noah, found the Fazbear Archive project, a website dedicated to archiving all history surrounding Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. Interestingly, from 2024 to 2025, a series of users (corresponding to active users throughout the BLOOD & GEARS ARG) assist the four friends in resurfacing an abundance of lost media related to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. However, an unknown entity lurks in the background, seemingly attempting to mock and sabotage the group. The entity demonstrates a disturbing familiarity with Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, expresses disdain for those who dig too deeply into the page in an attempt to relive it, and reveals knowledge of the animatronics trapped within a fantasy, revealing the animatronics being haunted by children souls that ultimately yearn for their freedom.

Reception[]
Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS has managed to cultivate a large audience of thousands of Five Nights at Freddy's enthusiasts thanks to the game's impressive work and consistent promotion through its ARG, teasers, etc. In recent times, Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS has managed to amass nearly 20,000 followers for its animatronic designs, detailed environment, and the expectation that it will be an impressive, revolutionary take of Five Nights at Freddy's with goals of having a grounded story and focus on not being repetative.
The animatronic designs, despite having gone through four iterations at this point, have all been well received and continue to improve in quality. Many enjoy the teams intentions with their designs, focusing on their realistic designs inspired by old-school Chuck E. Cheese and Showbiz Pizza cyberamics with an emphasis on balancing their playful nature with creepiness in dark environments. However, a small group of fans argue that this approach is not being faithful to the original idea of Five Nights at Freddy's in terms of its horror. As development progressed, particularly following the release of the Post-Night Demo, the developers of Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS began teasing various finalized camera renders planned to be implemented into the game, resulting in fans across X/Twitter, GameJolt, and their Discord server praising them for their meticulous attention to detail, especially following the release of the Janitorials and Prize Counter cameras, which were complemented for their small details and subtle easter eggs. Finally, in recent times, with the upcoming release of the Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS Night-Shift demo, a video showcasing the Office gameplay was revealed, showcasing a faithful yet fresh experience, featuring a series of new mechanics involving the cameras, doors, and more. Many fans also praise the remaining aspects of the game, including its storyline and voice acting.
Overall, Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS is anticipated to be one of the best remakes in the Five Nights at Freddy's fangame scene. Its unique animatronic designs aim to be realistic interpretations of the original cast while remaining unsettling in dark environments. The detailed and meticulous environments, along with teasers of gameplay that promise an engaging experience featuring an immersive story, voice acting, and post-night segments, have generated significant traction and resulted in the formation of their own community. Many users in the Five Nights at Freddy's community expect Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS to be a major highlight within the fangame community.
