- Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time
Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time (also known as FNaF: In Real Time or just In Real Time) is an indie point-and-click fangame developed by Real Time Studios, inspired by Scott Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. It is a reimagining of the original Five Nights at Freddy's which, as its main gimmick, features animated camera movement alongside several new gameplay elements, brand new plot, and more.
Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time was officially announced on August 16, 2023, as the debut project of Real Time Studios. Initially, the game was intended to be a simple mod featuring animatronics moving on cameras, but the team, led by Taaryn, eventually decided to expand the project into a full-fledged game. The initial release date was set for April 27, 2024, but it was later delayed till June. As June came to a close, the release date remained uncertain and had was stated to only be "coming soon". Days prior to its release, it was suddenly announced to release on December 23, 2024.
The game currently stands with releasing two demos. On January 5, 2024, a teaser demo was released, which was disguised as a troll demo for "Fnqaf a Freddy's". The second demo, intended for streamers and the VORTEX charity stream, was released in celebration of raising $4,000 for The Rainforest Trust charity.
The plot of Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time takes place exactly ten years after the events of the original game. As apposed to Michael Afton, Donavan Sheehan serves as our protagonist, who takes a job as a night-guard and technician at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza at a point where the location is on the verge of shutting down. During his shift, Donavan tries to uncover the secrets mysterious plaguing the location, but his tracks are being watched by an unknown entity that seems determined to erase all evidence.
Since the announcement of Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time, several music videos have been released as promotional materials to hype up the game. Additionally, an upcoming installment to the Real Time saga, titled FNAF MOVIE GAME, is set to retell the story of the Five Nights at Freddy's official film.

Gameplay
Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time attempts to be a 1-1 recreation of the original Five Nights at Freddy's game, but with some distinct and unique features. The main gimmick of the game is that the animatronics move in real-time on the monitor feed, unlike in the original where they would glitch and appear still. Additionally, the animatronics have more freedom in their movement, as they can enter the Office through both the west and east hallways. However, despite these changes, the game does not expand upon the basic mechanics of the original, aside from featuring new animations in familiar cameras and special gimmicks which are implemented as the game progresses.
Due to fluid animatronic movements being the main gimmick of the game, according to Taaryn on Reddit, each animatronic was given a distinct movement style when roaming on the cameras. Bonnie appears to move with slow, fluid motions, while Chica alternates between periods of complete stillness and jerky, floppy movements. Freddy, on the other hand, moves with a more robotic pace, which is evident based off his fixated arm posture. Finally, Foxy was animated with curiosity and aggression in mind for his movements.[1]
Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time consists a Story Mode, separated through the perspective of two protagonists, and unique Challenges to conquer. Starting on Night 1: "Showtime!", Bonnie the Bunny is the first to activate, remaining inactive alongside his bandmates on the Show Stage. Once activated, he will exit the Show Stage camera and may either skip the Dining Area entirely or transition to a feed that shows him standing in the Dining Hall. Eventually, Bonnie will progress and have the option to enter either the West Hall, East Hall, or Backstage. If he enters Backstage, he will soon return to the Dining Area. Bonnie can then walk through either the west or east camera, briefly either turning back or standing in the designated corner feed. If he enters the West Hall, he may also choose to access the Supply Closet. Once he leaves his corner camera, he will appear at the Office door, requiring the player to close it. While at the door, if the player opens the Office door to check for Bonnie, there is a chance he will barge in. Upon entering, if the player pulls the Cameras back up, Bonnie will jumpscare them.
Chica the Chicken activates shortly after Bonnie later in the night, initially appearing inactive on the Show Stage before leaving. Similar to Bonnie, once activated, Chica will exit the Show Stage and enter the Dining Area, where she will stare at the feed for a moment before suddenly turning to move in the opposite direction and entering either the West Hall, East Hall, Restrooms, or Kitchen. Like Bonnie, after traversing the hallway, Chica will appear on the designated corner camera feed adjacent to the Office, or she may choose to turn back and re-enter the Dining Hall. Once she leaves her position on the corner camera, she will approach the door, prompting players to close it. If players fail to do so in time, or otherwise opens the door while Chica is at the door, Chica will barge into the Office and jumpscare the player.
Following Night 1, the player will be required to unlock subsequent nights using the Minimap, which contains a free-roam Atari-like interpretation of the location. Controlling Donavan Sheehan, the player must access specific key points to unlock the next night. After each night, players will be awarded a set amount of cash to purchase the next nights. However, they must act cautiously and swiftly, as animatronics roam the location over time. Office, Prize Counter, and Hallways serve as safe havens, however other places of interest can be purchased alongside the unlocking of a night to take control of that area, preventing animatronics to entering such area. To begin Night 2, players must reach the Supply Closet and buy it. After every night, players must purchase their next night, unlocking a new landmark. If a player gets caught by an animatronic, the animatronic will jumpscare them, sending them back to the Office.
Another unique aspect of the Minimap includes the Fazbear Employment Console, which can be found on the Prize Counter desk. It functions as a database logged into William Afton’s account. While the console primarily allows players to replay certain nights, it also features additional functionalities. One of these is the Avatar Editor, which allows players to create a custom avatar or select from pre-created avatars consisting of in-game characters, developers, and more. Additionally, players can access a Catalog app, where they can listen to unlocked soundtracks and purchase cutscenes that provide a deeper insight into the story, including extended scenes from the Monitor Series, each saved with their respective date in the timeline.
Foxy the Pirate will activate on Night 2: "Calm Before The Storm", with him functioning similar to his original counterpart. He occupies his own stage on the Pirate Cove camera. He can be stalled by monitoring the camera. However, over time, he will gradually peek out from the curtains and eventually step off the stage, preparing to sprint towards the Office. Once Foxy leaves Pirate's Cove, he will wait for the camera to be clear of any other antagonists in the Restrooms before making a dash towards the Office from either the East Hall or West Hall. To prevent him from reaching the Office, the player must close the door before he reaches the end of the hallway. If successful, Foxy will be seen walking back to Pirate Cove. However, failure to close the door in time will result in Foxy jumpscaring the player.
Shortly before Freddy Fazbear activates on Night 4: "Switch-Up", it is revealed that the Phone Guy had sent a team of repairmen to reinstate the Kitchen camera and implement two cameras inside the Safe Room and Entrance locations, allowing for not one location to hide from the player. Freddy Fazbear, like the rest of his bandmates, begins inactive on the Show Stage. However, when he does exit, he will march into the Dining Area. After exiting the Dining Area, Freddy will go through two phases on the same camera before heading towards either the West Hall, East Hall, Kitchen, or Restrooms. Shortly after, Freddy will appear on the designated corner camera feed, adjacent to the Office, or he may turn back and re-enter the Dining Area. The player must await for his laugh, as when he appears marching towards the Office, the player must close the door, otherwise Freddy will jam the door and take the next opportunity to jumpscare the player.
Plot
Five Nights at Freddy's: In Real Time takes place in a connected universe that is canon to both the FNAF MOVIE GAME and the entire Five Nights at Freddy's series. The protagonist of the game, Donavan Sheehan, takes a job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza following the mysterious disappearance of his daughter, hoping to uncover the truth behind her fate. Throughout his shift, Donavan uncovers various secrets and cover-ups at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, as well as Fazbear Entertainment's attempts to conceal the Missing Children's Incident, culminating in his endless nights with the haunted animatronics. In an act of vengeance, Donavan vows to report his experiences at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza to the proper authorities in an effort to shut down the restaurant and bring down Fazbear Entertainment once and for all. However, he is caught by William Afton, who is posing as a location manager for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
Meanwhile, Brother, a unique addition to the game, is a victim dating back all the way in 1987 and makes an attempt to set the pieces together in an attempt to find someone willing to assist the animatronics in getting a proper resolution. However, throughout the events of the game, he grapples with the painful realization that he cannot save the animatronics as their memories gradually fade away, ultimately rotting away years after his promise to set them to rest.

In the future, Brother is intended to be fully implemented as a purchasable character in Survival Mode.
