Appearance[]
Freddy Fazbear is an anthropomorphic brown bear with lighter shades of brown on his stomach and muzzle. Unlike his original counterpart from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, this iteration of Freddy Fazbear is designed to be more faithful to the cybernetic animatronics of the late 1900s, resulting in the absence of a waist and segmented joints that reveal his endoskeleton. He sports a stylish black top hat with a white ribbon and a large black bow tie on his upper torso, while holding a microphone in his right hand. Freddy has thick black eyebrows and three black freckles on each side of his muzzle, along with a jaw that features a set of lower teeth but lacks upper teeth. He has padded hands and three-toed feet with black nails. During the night, Freddy Fazbear's eyes can be begin glowing akin to his movie counterpart.
He is one of the few animatronics to have a walkaround counterpart, designed as a suit that performers wear, most prominently featured in the Fantasy Meets Fun commercial. This counterpart of Freddy is depicted with more exaggerated and cartoonish features. His head is smooth, while the rest of his body is covered in a layer of padded fur. His top hat is slimmer, and his eyes are fixed in place with oval-shaped pupils. His jolly smile is abnormally jolly and emphasized with blushing red cheeks, with just two buck teeth visible on the bottom jaw. He sports a more stylized black bow tie in a large butterfly formation. Instead of having black claws and nails, they share the same color scheme as his padded hands.
Personality[]
According to depictions of him found in the Fantasy Meets Fun commercial and archived audio footage of his performances, Freddy Fazbear is an enthusiastic bear who, upon his introduction at the rebranded establishment, quickly became a hit and performed to the audience, composed of all ages, with pride. Although the rebrand features only Freddy Fazbear and his band, he enthusiastically promises to bring the same charm from Fredbear's Family Diner while introducing a brand-new cast of animatronics. As a result, Freddy Fazbear was regarded as one of the most popular performers targeted towards children, grouped alongside global mascots such as Mickey Mouse and Ronald McDonald.
History[]
Freddy Fazbear has been documented to exist as far back as 1979, prior to the rebranding of Fredbear's Family Diner. At that time, he was intended to replace Fredbear and Bonnie Rabbit with his friends. However, due to budgetary constraints, Henry's concept ultimately failed to be implemented within the restaurant. Following the closure of Fredbear's Family Diner for "classified reasons," presumably related to the Bite of 1983, it was decided it was in the establishments best interest to rebrand the entire restaurant to center around Freddy Fazbear, renaming it Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. By January 1984, these changes were in place, and new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place locations opened across the country, promising the same familiar fun with the addition of brand-new animatronics.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place remained open until 1985, when it temporarily closed due to management issues following the death of Henry Emily and the transfer of ownership to a relative in the Emily family, as well as the disappearance of William Afton. The location would remain closed for nearly four years until, in the summer of 1989, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place officially reopened with minor changes, such as the removal of the Puppet and the crawl maze under Pirate's Cove. The location attempted to stay afloat but struggled to retain much interest despite a boost in popularity and the introduction of the HelpyPAL computer assistant in 2002. Fazbear Entertainment ultimately declared bankruptcy and closed its restaurant chain in October 2003, leaving Freddy Fazbear abandoned inside the restaurant indefinitely.
That same year, in October 2003,[1] the protagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS was called back to the location after 20 years of neglect, drawn by the sense of "sorrow" that surrounded the place.
In 2015, a group of four young adults founded The Fazbear Archive and officially launched FazbearArchive.com. By 2024, the team actively collaborated with interested fans to search for lost media related to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, locating lost commercials and artifacts from the location through YouTube videos and collectors. However, as detailed through the ARG, it appears that someone with close ties to the location, implied to be William Afton, is not pleased with their attempts to reminisce about the past as "Blood and gears running the little machines of fantasy land" as, in a personal drive, a file named "ARCHIVE.txt" details that children yearn for their families within the restaurant, which has since been closed for two decades.
