— The Puppet in BLOOD & GEARS Post-Night demo |
The Puppet is a major character in Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS.
It was a performer at Fredbear's Family Diner who was the only animatronic to retain its role in the new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, residing in the Prize Corner and handing out gifts to children. It continued to perform until it was eventually decommissioned in 1989 after a dispute with Fazbear Entertainment's management. In the BLOOD & GEARS Post-Night demo, it is implied that the Puppet has a deeper connection with the player.
Not much is known about whether The Puppet will serve as a prominent antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS. However, on Monday: 6AM, The Puppet is revealed to be lurking behind the Protagonist after they complete the "Freddy on the Run" minigame. Its reflection can be seen on the screen of the arcade cabinet after it suddenly shuts off.
Appearance[]
The Puppet is a marionette wearing a white mask and, in promotional material, purple pajamas. Although it initially appears identical to its original counterpart from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, upon closer inspection, several features have been altered. The Puppet wears a white mask with blue pupils and long eyelashes, and has rosy red cheeks shaped in swirls, as well as red lips. Beyond this initial glimpse, not much is known about its true appearance. However, promotional artwork around Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place depict it wearing purple pajamas with white features and golden trims on the nightcap.
History[]
The Puppet initially served as a performer at Fredbear's Family Diner alongside Fredbear, Bonnie Rabbit, and Sparky the Dog. It would gift children with prizes in the Prize Corner. In 1983, Fredbear's Family Diner closed for "classified reasons," which are suggested to be related to the Bite of 1983. The diner was eventually retired in favor of Freddy Fazbear & Friends, a concept featuring performers that preceded Fredbear and Bonnie Rabbit but were cut due to budgeting issues. After the establishment reopened under the new name "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place," the Puppet and Sparky the Dog continued as performers while Fredbear and Bonnie Rabbit were retired indefinitely. They performed together for two years until, in 1985, Fazbear Entertainment temporarily closed Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place due to management issues surrounding the death of Henry Emily and the disappearance of William Afton.
Following the reopening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place in 1989, the Puppet was retired. However, in 2003, it can be seen stalking the Protagonist during his first shift, greeting him upon his late arrival after 20 years of absence.

While the Puppet does not make an antagonistic appearance in the BLOOD & GEARS Post-Night Demo, it is depicted in the reflection of the glass after beating Monday: 6AM.
